MetaSlider Gallery Pro 1.4: Download Sizes and Image Likes

MetaSlider Gallery Pro 1.4.0 adds two great new features for gallery visitors:

1. Selectable image download sizes: Visitors can now choose the image size they want before downloading
2. Image likes: Visitors can heart favorite images directly from the lightbox toolbar.

For site owners and editors, this update makes galleries more interactive while also bringing useful feedback into WordPress. Like counts are shown in the gallery editor, so you can quickly see which images are getting the most attention.

Image download sizes

In the MetaSlider Gallery Pro admin area, you can use the new per-gallery “Download Sizes” setting. This controls which image sizes visitors can download from the gallery window.

In the screenshot below, you can see these settings in the “Toolbar” area of MetaSlider Gallery.

This next screenshot shows what the feature looks like on the front of the site. The visitor gets a choice of which image size to download.

Image likes

MetaSlider Gallery Pro users can now add let visitors favorite individual their images. This screenshot below shows how the “Like” button appears in gallery window.

You can enable this feature by going to “Toolbar” and clicking the “Like” option. In the gallery preview, you can see how many people have liked each image.

Other improvements and fixes

• Clearer editor controls: Gallery editor setting icons now match the front-end toolbar icons, and the Autoplay Slide Interval label has its missing tooltip.
• Security and correctness: Admin request input is sanitized, likes are counted once per visitor per image, and lightGallery calls without settings are handled more reliably.
• Cleaner releases: The plugin package now ships only runtime files and declares its WordPress and PHP requirements.

This release includes supporting changes for the new likes and download-size features, including per-gallery data attributes for download size maps and image IDs, public REST routes for reading and setting likes, a filterable likes rate limit, improved cache priming for download maps, and more reliable plugin path detection for updates.
