MetaSlider Gallery 2.36: Carousel Frame Borders and Smoother Gallery Fixes

MetaSlider Gallery 2.36.0 is a polishing and bug-fix release.

This version adds a new Frame Border setting for Carousel layouts, giving you an easy way to keep carousel frames visible when their background blends into the rest of the page.

This release also improves several everyday gallery behaviors, including Carousel captions, slide switching speed, custom links, rounded corners, and image loading in Grid and Masonry layouts.

Improved Carousel galleries

The main new option in this release is designed for Carousel galleries where the carousel background matches the page background. Previously, navigation buttons and slide areas could appear to float without a clear visual boundary. The new Frame Border setting helps define the carousel area more cleanly.

You can choose the color and style for your Carousel using the “Appearance” tab.

Version 2.36.0 also focuses heavily on Carousel reliability and gallery display quality, with fixes that should make galleries feel faster and behave more consistently on the front end.

• Carousel captions: Captions now display correctly in Carousel layouts when captions are enabled for the gallery.
• Faster carousel switching: Photo changes in Carousel galleries should no longer have the noticeable lag reported in earlier versions.
• Custom slide links: Links configured in the MetaSlider Links tab now take priority instead of being overridden by the gallery lightbox behavior.
• Rounded corner display: Rounded gallery images no longer clip the “Open in Gallery” button, icon, or captions.
• Smarter image loading: Grid and Masonry tiles now request more appropriate image sizes instead of downloading images that are much larger than needed.

For site owners, the practical result is a cleaner Carousel layout, working captions, more reliable click behavior, and potentially lighter gallery pages where Grid or Masonry layouts are used.
