Last month we announced lots of new video features.
This month we’re launching a new video gallery feature.
The MetaSlider Gallery plugin now allows you to add videos from your WordPress media library, YouTube, Vimeo and Livid.com.

Getting started with video galleries
Here’s a guide showing how to build your first video gallery:
Local video galleries
Here’s a live action view of a gallery using videos from the media library. This feature is in the Free version of the plugin. We’re using a “Grid” layout where each row and column is the same size. When you click to play each video, it will open in a large window.
Here’s a local video gallery, but this time in a “Masonry” layout. Masonry shows your videos in equally sized columns, but the rows are flexible. This works well for videos of different sizes and automatically fills gaps left by shorter items.
Here’s another video gallery using the same videos but this time in a “Justified” layout. The Justified option shows your videos in rows of equal height, but each video’s width is flexible, so every video keeps its original aspect ratio.
YouTube video galleries
MetaSlider Gallery Pro supports YouTube videos. This gallery below is using the “Carousel” layout. You can browse through the videos using the thumbnail navigation. One advantage of this layout is that you can play the videos right here in the browser. Or you can open and play the videos in a full-screen window.
Vimeo video galleries
MetaSlider Gallery Pro supports Vimeo videos. This gallery below is using the “Showcase” layout. For this gallery, we’ve turned off the ability to watch videos in the expanded window. You can watch the videos directly on the screen, or use Vimeo’s full-screen option.
Livid video galleries
If you’re using the free version of MetaSlider Gallery and want a video hosting option, you can try Livid.com, which is a newer alternative to Vimeo. This next video gallery uses the Livid integration. We’ve added captions that appear in the grid layout and in the full-screen window.
