Other improvements and fixes
Version 2.60.0 also includes a broad set of fixes across slide editing, scheduling, themes, translations, and admin behavior.
- Scheduling feedback: Scheduled slides now show more accurate date warnings, and Folder slides warn when dates are invalid.
- Layer animation previews: Preview Layer slide animations in the editor, without saving and reloading the front end.
- Layer slide editing: Color picker interface issues in Layer slides have been fixed.
- Theme setting resets: Restore customized theme settings to their defaults when you want to start over.
- Background Color slides: Duplicating slides, keeping the “Add to slideshow” button active, reordering captions, and export/import thumbnails all received fixes.
- Theme and transition behavior: Theme editor background styling and theme-specific transition overrides now behave more reliably.
- Media slide polish: YouTube, Vimeo, and TikTok slides no longer show an oversized play icon.
- Admin cleanup: Pro features are no longer loaded on unrelated admin pages, and the plugin icon on the Plugins page has been fixed.
- Translations and packaging: Spanish, French, Italian, and other supported translations were updated, while unnecessary translation files were removed from the plugin zip.
For developers
Developers can now customize the default Layer slide scaling behavior through the metaslider_default_parameters filter. The release also updates Axios and other project dependencies, resolves PHPCS issues, and prevents Pro scripts from being enqueued on unrelated WordPress admin screens.
